The SIN called PRIDE

When you arrogantly consider yourself to be somebody, God makes you a nobody but when you consider yourself a nobody, He makes you somebody, (you become a force to reckon with).

Just like the scripture says in James 4:6-7 “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Therefore, submit yourself unto God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. ”

Humility is convincingly spelt out from Genesis to Revelations . God Almighty humbled Himself to have fellowship with Man (His handiwork) and constantly encouraged Man in the bible, to be humble so that we can be like Him because humility (through Meekness and Gentleness) is an attribute of the Fruit of The Holy Spirit called LOVE.

When we are not proud, arrogant and haughty in spirit, we manifest The Very Nature and character of God.

In the book of proverbs, Solomon, who was specially endowed with wisdom from God warned vehemently against pride, haughtiness and arrogance.

Proverbs16:5 says ” Everyone who is proud at heart is an abomination unto The Lord, though they join forces, they will not go unpunished” In fact, he paraphrased “Humility, to the wise tends towards life while pride to the foolish, leads to destruction”.

The only way, we will not be proud at any time,; is to reverently submit to God, acknowledging that He is Lord over all and that without Him, we are nothing and also can do nothing.

If we believe we can survive on our own through the various means we choose, that is PRIDE and it inadvertently puts us against God and under the cruel control of satan.

This sin called PRIDE which was first found in satan, led to his ruin,
(May pride not destroy us like satan in Jesus’ Name), therefore he was cast down from heaven, losing forever the glorious position, he once had (Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:12-18) because The Precious Throne of God is The Place of Holiness, Righteousness and Power, not pride or arrogance which defiles and makes a person unholy and unworthy of dwelling with God.

There is actually nothing that we have that was not given to us by God. So why are we so proud and haughty that we treat others as though they are nothing and nobody? Everyone under God has equal value and equal right.

The sin of pride is so prevalent in the world due to unrighteousness. It is the sinful way of life of satan and his own but as Christians, we as light and salt of the earth, are supposed to be different, exhibiting the right values by showing good examples of how to live, conducting ourselves humbly through the humility of Christ.

We have a special grace and assurance from God that when we resist the devil by saying no to his plans and evil ways, he will flee from us.

It is very possible to be humble in spite of our earthly accomplishments.
When we are still humble in spite of all our achievements in life, we direct the attention of men to Our Heavenly Father who receives all glory and blesses us more in return.

Be humble today and always just like Our Heavenly Father.

Shalom.
